BCAA IPH AGAA is a new food supplement which combines all necessary amino acids with the short peptide IPH AGAA. This complex is proved to maximize the metabolism and circulation in muscle cells and provides, among other properties, nourishment and balance within muscle tissue.
A study has been conducted within a specific controlled group of young football athletes. The study was conducted in 2 phases. During phase 1, the athletes received a simple BCAA supplement whereas during phase 2, they only received the BCAA IPH AGAA.
The tasks of the study were to (by comparison):
— investigate the results and plausible consequences of the supplement on the overall body composition as well on speed-strength performance of the athletes
— examine the effect of the supplement on the quality of sleep
— explore the effect of the supplement on the psychology of the athletes (mood, willingness to train)
The experimental group
The research was conducted for 6 weeks with a 2-weeks break, from June 2019 until August 2019 in Athens, Greece. The young athletes followed a specific training program according to their pre-season preparation period needs. The program was organized on a weekly basis: 2 times a week, weight work out, 3 times a week, a specialized training program on the field with a ball and 2 rest days (it has to be noted that the specific program is the one usually followed and there were no deviations).
The experimental group consisted of 11 young male football players, born in 1999-2000 with an 8-year sports experience. Specific characteristics were recorded before the experiment such as: age, height, weight, body composition, SJ, CMJ, test ruffier.
Organization of the experiment
The players were randomly chosen.
During phase 1, the athletes received a simple BCAA supplement. According to the directions of the manufacturer, each athlete received 10gr of the oral powder prior to training and 10gr after the completion of his work-out for a time period of 3 weeks. Then, they stopped for 2 weeks (no supplement was received during this time period) and started, for 3 consecutive weeks, the BCAA IPH AGAA . All athletes, at the beginning of the research, had signed a specific formal declaration regarding their personal characteristics (age, weight, height, fat mass, muscle mass, SJ, CMJ, test ruffier) as well as a statement mentioning that, during the research period, they will not take any other supplement. In addition, a specific dietary program was designed for all athletes. The measurements were carried out two times during the experiment (for both phases): before starting the supplement and at the end of the three-week period.
Study Tools
For the research, the following tools have been used: skin fold caliper, bosco test, questionnaire (which was filled in on a daily basis), in order to monitor their recovery phase.
Results
The effects of the supplement on the overall body composition
- Phase 1: simple BCAA supplement
The group received a 20gr dosage on a daily basis for three weeks. The effects of the BCAA were evaluated on: overall body weight, muscle mass, fat mass, CMJ, test ruffier. An increase of 1% was observed in muscle mass whereas the fat mass remained stable. An increase of CMJ (0.5%) was recorded as well as of SJ (1%). A remarkable improvement on the ability of the body to recover was observed. Finally, the pulse in the morning remained unchanged.
- Phase 2: BCAA IPH AGAA supplement
The group received a 20gr dosage on a daily basis for three weeks. The effects of the BCAA IPH AGAA were evaluated on: overall body weight, muscle mass, fat mass, CMJ, test ruffier. It was found that under the abovementioned conditions (training schedule, dietary program), an increase in absolute and relative indications of muscle mass was noted (3%) with the reception of the supplement. There was also observed an increase of 5% in the test ruffier. SJ and CMJ were also higher than the values recorded after the reception of the simple bcaa supplement (1% and 2% respectively).
The experiment depicted a impressive enhancement of the body’s recovery ability as well as a decrease of the athletes’pulse rate in the morning (3%).
The effects of the supplement on sleep
During phase 1,no alteration in sleep quality was observed or improvement of general psychological condition.
On the contrary, during phase 2, a remarkable improvement of perception and willingness for training was being noticed. Young athletes reported a more relaxed sleep, a better psychological condition (mood, excitement, motivation) as well as a feeling of a faster body recovery after heavy training.
Summary
— BCAA IPH AGAA peptide complex increases strength and body adaptability to heavy training
— Achieves increase in muscle tissue while protecting it
— Improves sleep and recovery quality
